Collagen induction therapy for acne scars, fine lines, texture and thinning hair, using nothing but your own skin’s repair response.
Fine needles, no incisions, and little to no downtime afterwards.
Safe on every skin tone, which is not true of every resurfacing treatment.
Spaced four to six weeks apart, so your skin has time to rebuild.
Nothing is added. The result comes from your skin repairing itself.
Microneedling is unusual among skin treatments in that nothing goes in. No filler, no acid, no light. Fine needles create controlled micro injuries, and your body responds the way it responds to any injury, by making collagen and elastin. That new tissue is what softens a scar or a line.
It is a slower answer than an injectable and a more thorough one. Results build across a course, and because it relies on your own healing rather than a foreign substance, it suits every skin type and tone.
Microneedling, also called collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive way to improve fine lines, wrinkles and scarring. It works on every skin type and tone, which makes it one of the few resurfacing treatments we can offer almost anybody.
A device fitted with fine needles creates tiny punctures in the skin. Your body reads those as injuries and starts its normal wound healing response, which means producing collagen and elastin. That new collagen fills in fine lines, softens scarring and firms the skin. Nothing is injected and nothing foreign is added. The improvement is your own tissue rebuilding.
Fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars and other scarring, rough texture, enlarged pores and uneven tone. It also makes the skincare you already use work harder, because products absorb far better through freshly treated skin. Downtime is minimal, which is why people fit it around a working week.
Beforehand, stay out of the sun and stop using retinol or other strong actives for a few days. Come with clean skin, free of makeup. Afterwards your skin will look red and feel sensitive, much like mild sunburn, for a day or two. Avoid sun, use a broad spectrum sunscreen daily and leave makeup off for at least twenty four hours.
The same technique, used on the scalp instead of the face. It is a genuinely promising option for pattern hair loss in both men and women, and for alopecia areata, and it is often paired with topical treatments to get more out of both.
Micro injuries in the scalp trigger the same healing response, which stimulates the proteins responsible for hair growth. It also increases blood flow to the follicles, delivering more of the nutrients and oxygen they need to produce hair. Combined with a topical treatment such as minoxidil, it helps that product penetrate rather than sit on the surface.
Androgenetic alopecia, which is male and female pattern baldness, and alopecia areata. It stimulates growth and can increase the thickness of the hair shaft itself. It is minimally invasive with little to no downtime, and it combines well with other hair loss treatments rather than competing with them.
Beforehand, avoid sun exposure and any harsh hair products, and arrive with a clean scalp free of styling product. Afterwards expect some redness and sensitivity in the treated area. Keep harsh products off for at least twenty four hours, and use sunscreen if the area is exposed.
Microneedling is not a face only treatment. These are the areas we work on most, and what each one responds to.
Wrinkles, fine lines, acne scars, large pores and uneven tone. It also improves how well your skincare absorbs, so the products you already own work harder.
Two areas that show age early and get neglected. Microneedling tightens loose skin here and softens the fine lines that develop from sun exposure.
Texture, scarring, stretch marks and age spots. Hands in particular give away age, and they respond well to a course.
Mostly stretch marks, which microneedling can visibly reduce, along with a general improvement in the texture and tone of the skin.
Acne scarring on the back is common, awkward to treat and responds well. The result is smoother, more even skin.
For most people in generally good health, yes. It is minimally invasive and complications are uncommon. It is not right for everybody though. Psoriasis, eczema, rosacea, pregnancy and a history of keloid scarring can all rule it out. We run a full consultation and skin analysis before any treatment, and we will only recommend it if it genuinely suits your skin and your health.
Redness similar to mild sunburn, and skin that feels slightly tight or sensitive. That normally settles within twenty four to forty eight hours. Many people notice a glow almost immediately, with the real improvement building over the following weeks as new collagen forms. Aftercare matters here more than with most treatments, so follow the sun protection and skincare instructions we give you.
Most people need three to six treatments spaced four to six weeks apart. That gap is not padding, it is how long your skin takes to complete a round of collagen production. More established scarring can need more sessions. We assess your skin at consultation and give you a number rather than an open ended course.
Yes, and there is decent evidence behind it. Creating controlled micro injuries in the scalp triggers the healing response that stimulates hair growth proteins, and it raises blood flow to the follicles. It works for pattern hair loss in men and women and for alopecia areata. It is most effective combined with a topical treatment, because the channels it opens help that product actually reach the follicle.
Microneedling rebuilds from underneath. A facial keeps the surface in good order between sessions, clearing dead skin and congestion so the results of a course actually show. Microdermabrasion and custom facials both pair well with a microneedling plan.
It suits most people but not everybody, and we would rather tell you that at consultation than take a booking. Come in for an assessment and an honest answer.
