The laser emits a light that the pigment in your hair absorbs. That light converts to heat, and the heat damages the follicle producing the hair, which stops or delays it growing back. Because the energy is drawn to the pigment, it targets dark, coarse hair while leaving the skin around it alone.
It is precise, and it is quick. Each pulse treats several hairs in a fraction of a second, so an underarm takes minutes rather than an appointment. What it is not is instant, and anyone promising you one session is selling something. Hair grows in cycles, and a course is how you catch all of it.

We run a LightSheer diode laser by Lumenis. Diode is the workhorse of hair removal for a reason: it uses a concentrated beam of light at a wavelength that reaches the follicle reliably, and built in cooling keeps the surface of your skin comfortable while it does.
It suits every skin type, which is not true of every system on the market, and it is fast enough that large areas stay practical. Our certified technicians set it for your skin and your hair rather than running a default and hoping.

Laser has the strictest preparation of anything we do, and following it makes a real difference to how well the course works.

- No sun exposure or tanning for six weeks

Laser Hair Removal Questions
Does laser hair removal hurt?
Most people describe it as a quick snap against the skin, like a rubber band, and it is over fast. We use current technology specifically because it keeps discomfort down, and we can apply a topical numbing cream if you would rather. Our technicians talk you through each step, which takes most of the anxiety out of a first session. If it is uncomfortable, say so during the treatment and we will adjust.
How many sessions will I need?
On average six to eight for the best result. The reason is biology rather than sales: hair grows in cycles, and the laser only affects follicles that are in the active growth phase, so repeated sessions catch the ones that were dormant last time. Plenty of people see a significant reduction after just a few. Your hair colour and thickness, your skin type and the area being treated all change the number, and we give you a personal plan at consultation.
Are there any side effects?
Usually minimal and temporary. Redness or slight swelling immediately afterwards is normal and typically settles within a few hours. In rare cases people experience temporary pigment changes, blistering or scarring. We give you detailed aftercare to keep that risk low, and we are available afterwards if anything concerns you.
Can I have laser if I have dark skin?
Yes. Older laser systems struggled with darker skin because they could not tell the difference between pigment in the hair and pigment in the skin. Our diode laser is suitable for every skin type, and we adjust wavelength, energy and cooling to your skin rather than running one default setting. Your skin is assessed before any treatment starts.
